Lusaka Project update...

Zambia update...April 2008

Last summer for the first time North London sent a team of sixth formers to Lusaka, Zambia, to spend time with the staff and pupils and to help develop Flying Angels School. We are very excited to be sending a new team with Miss Zugg and Mr Fox this summer of twelve pupils: Rosa Jung, Priya Patel, Rebecca Marshall, Katie Carver, Miriam Fine, Francesca Golding, Jane Duffy, Natalie Ellis, Sophie Strang, Rebecca Lees, Dasha Lisitsina and Leah Schabas.

Mrs Pomeroy will also be paying Flying Angels a visit with her husband while on Sabbatical, where one of their projects will be to train the staff in Science experiments.

This new link is being continued in school as well as trips to Zambia, with the pen friends programme now being extended to include years 7 and 8. Last term Flying Angels was the school’s Canonaid charity, which along with proceeds from Canons Follies and other fund raising has generated £6000 towards our £9000 target. With £9000 we can buy a new school building which will enable Flying Angels to offer education to pupils of a wider age range.

In order to reach this target some exciting fundraising events are being planned for next term, so watch this space!
