Admission to the Sixth-Form (approximately 20 places)
We usually admit approximately 20 girls into our Sixth Form to join girls coming up from our own Year 11. They are very welcome as they bring a new approach and fresh ideas. Our entrance test and interviews ensure that the candidates are embarking on the right Sixth Form courses and are secure in their background work.
All details of the International Baccalaureate and AS / A2 courses are to be found in the Sixth Form Course Guide. Candidates should study this closely before making application.
Applications are accepted between July and October of the year preceding admission.
Candidates are invited for one day of entrance tests in mid-November. These tests are in subjects they are planning to study in the Sixth Form, and are based on the common core of the GCSE syllabuses. Short-listed candidates are subsequently called for interviews with the appropriate Heads of Department in late November.
The candidate's present school is asked for a reference and for predictions for GCSE. When a candidate is accepted, it is usually unconditionally, on the basis of our tests.
For further information on the arrangements for tests and interviews for entry to the Sixth Form, or to request a prospectus, application form or Sixth Form Course Guide, please contact the Sixth Form Registrar, Miss L M Chambers, on 0208 951 6468, or by email firstname.lastname@example.org
Visit North London Collegiate School to find out more....
As well as having the opportunity to visit North London Collegiate on our Saturday Open Afternoon, prospective Sixth Formers and their families are invited to spend a dedicated 16+ Afternoon at the School during the Autumn term.
We also hold a 16+ Course Consultation Evening. The Course Consultation Evening provides the opportunity to discuss courses with Heads of Department and other members of staff, and to talk to current Sixth Formers, as well as the Head of Sixth Form and the Director of Studies. This follows the 16+ Afternoon.
Governors' Bursaries are available for Sixth-Form candidates, in case of financial need. Parents are asked to submit the relevant forms for Governors' Bursaries when their daughters are called for interview.
More information is available in the Fees, Bursaries and Scholarships section.
Places sometimes become available in the Sixth Form after the November entrance tests have been completed. Late applications may be made up to mid-March. Please note however that there is no guarantee that places will be available at this stage, and that all financial awards are made following the November entrance procedure.
