Admission to the Junior School (8 to 10 places)
Registration for 4+ and 7+ entry in September 2010 is now closed.
Girls enter the Junior School (Yr 3) in their 7th year. Thus, for September 2011 entry at 7+, girls must have a date of birth between 1 September 2003 and 31 August 2004. We register applications for entry in September in the period between May and November of the previous year. Applications for 2011 entry will open on 1 May 2010 and the closing date is 15th November 2010.
The Entrance Tests take place in January prior to the September entry.
The process is in two stages. The first stage involves preliminary written tests which assess literacy and numeracy. Selected candidates are then called for interview and a practical session. For the first stage tests, the 7 year old candidates will be expected to:
1. Write a story using full sentences and some interesting vocabulary.
2. Read fluently with understanding in order to give answers to written questions.
3. Write the answers to these questions in simple sentences.
4. Understand the concept of addition, subtraction, multiplication and 'sharing'/division and to be able to apply these rules to 'story' sums.
5. Know the 2, 3, 4, 5 and 10 times tables.
6. Have a basic understanding of time, money and block graphs.
