The 2009 results, published in July, show our 32 IB candidates achieving an average Diploma score of 41 points. (A student achieving 41 points is in the very top 4% of attainment worldwide.) This is now the fourth consecutive year that school has achieved an average score in excess of 40 points – comfortably within the very top range of marks typically reserved for Oxbridge admission.

Four more North Londoners have now achieved the “perfect diploma” score of 45 points – a truly exceptional feat, achieved by fewer than 80 candidates (out of nearly 40,000) in the entire world last summer – and they are joined by two students who achieved 44 points (putting them in the very top 0.6% of achievement internationally). Moreover, the clear majority of IB Higher Level examinations at North London were passed at grade 7, the equivalent of an “A*” grade at A-level, giving the school by far the highest proportion of top IB grades of any school in the UK.
It is unprecedented for any school to have consistently achieved an average Diploma score over 40 points in the way that North London Collegiate has. We also know that no other UK school achieved an average score anywhere near as high as 41 points in recent years; indeed, in all of the years that North London has been offering the IB Diploma, no other school in the UK has achieved an average score higher than 39 points. It is clear, therefore, that these results underscore North London Collegiate’s reputation as one of the very highest-achieving IB schools in the world.
These results are a fantastic testament to the success of the talent, hard work and commitment of the students and staff, and we congratulate our new IB graduates on such a splendid achievement.
