About the Headmistress

Bernice McCabe has been Headmistress of North London Collegiate School since 1997.
Educated at Clifton High School and Bristol University, Bernice McCabe taught for many years in comprehensive schools. From 1990-1997 she was Headmistress of Chelmsford County High School, a maintained girls' grammar school during which time she studied for her MBA.
She has served on a number of governing bodies and national education committees in the maintained and independent sectors, including the National Grammar Schools Association and the GSA/HMC Universities Committee. Since 2010 she has been a member of the National Curriculum Review Advisory Committee.
Since 2002 Mrs McCabe has directed the Prince of Wales Education Summer Schools for teachers of English and History and is also now Co-Director of The Prince's Teaching Institute.
The Headmistress has been named in the Evening Standard's Top 1000 Most Influential People in London for the last few years.
