The Under 12 lacrosse team played in their first ever tournament last Saturday! The team were nervous about the amount of the lacrosse they were going to have to play in one day but they performed superbly beating St Georges B 6-0, St James 1-0 and Abbots Hill 3-0. They drew with St Helens 1-1.
The team made it through to the semi final where they played Princess Helena College. This game was 1-1 at the end of the match, so they went to extra time... this happened 3 more times as neither team had scored. This now meant that they were waiting for the golden goal... the next team to score goes through to the final.
Our girls were exhausted but fought hard finally being awarded a free position. Molly Buckwald scored the goal taking our U12 through to the final against St Georges. The problem was they were now exhausted and the team had had plenty of time to rest.
Nevertheless, the team fought hard and very unlucky to lose 0-3. The standard of play throughout the day was exceptional and we have high hopes for this talented year group.
