Having been awarded Gold and Platinum CREST awards (Celebrating CREativity in Science and Technology) for a project she had completed over the summer, Alisha Allana (Yr 13) was invited to display her work at the Young Scientists and Engineers Fair recently.
The project, entitled ‘In Vitro characterisation of T lymphocytes defective in the signalling molecule Lck and the implications for the immune response to pathogens’, looked at the role played by a particular protein in the immune system and was carried out at the National Institute for Medical Research (NIMR). The fair took place on 7th March at the Centre of the Cell, Whitechapel, and showcased the outstanding CREST projects nominated from each region in the
Needless to say this is an amazing achievement and the department are very proud of the Alisha’s hard work and dedication.
