Our Science Fair, held on 9th February as part of Maths & Science Week, was a great success. Students from Yrs 7 to 12 participated in the event.
Each student prepared a project during the Christmas holidays based on the theme of light and colour to present to the judges. It was a chance for students interested in the broad area of science to give a presentation on something fascinating they researched based on the theme.
Creativity, originality and the quality of presentation were just some of the criteria used by the judges, in deciding prize winners.
Psychology society hosted a Smartie tasting activity to keep the girls busy as the judges went round. The girls were blindfolded and picked a smartie to taste, and then were asked to guess the colour of that smartie. The activity was popular and resulted in the smarties being finished very quickly!
Congratulations to everyone who participated and came up with such fascinating ideas. We sincerely hope that the success of this year's science fair will encourage you to participate in more fairs to come!
