Everyone Matters

We firmly believe that when children are well settled socially and emotionally, they will make good academic progress. We place a strong emphasis on pastoral care from the moment the girls join the school. Every child has a Form Teacher who is responsible for their pastoral well being.  In the First School there is a full time Teaching Assistant in each class and sixth form girls are attached to every class so that the girls can also develop a ‘big sister' relationship with the older students.

There a full programme of Personal Social and Health Education taught throughout the Junior School to which outside speakers contribute and sensitive issues are discussed.   Circle Time sessions are a regular feature of Junior School life and these help the girls to express their concerns and help them to solve their problems in a supportive and safe environment.

A full time nurse and school counsellor are on hand to support the pastoral care of the girls.
