Mobile Phone Recycling

The Parents' Guild have launched a very exciting initiative to raise money for charity.  There are two decorated boxes, one in the Senior School Reception and one in the Junior School Reception, for the deposit of old mobile phones.  Working mobile phones will be sent to developing countries in Africa and any mobile phones beyond repair will have all their parts stripped and recycled.  Every single part of the handset is recycled and reused.

The mobile phone company will then pay us for the phones we have collected and this money will go to charity.  The money raised by Senior School will go to WaterAid and money raised by Junior School will go to our link school in Zambia, The Flying Angels School.

A representative from the mobile phone recycling company visited the School and spoke in a Junior School assembly.  She told the girls about this exciting new project and explained how their old mobile phones can provide opportunities for others as well as helping the environment.

If you have any old or used mobile phones lying around, please bring them in and donate them to raise funds for charity.  Please ensure all personal information has been taken out of any phones before donating.
