This term, several girls in Yr 10 had the opportunity to take part in an eight week scuba diving course as part of the Upper School activities programme. Simon Gray, a PADI scuba instructor from the London Scuba Diving School came in to teach the six girls the various skills needed for this fantastic sport.

The course consisted of a simple swimming assessment, six pool confined water skill sessions and a final exam at the end. It was an amazing experience and all the girls enjoyed it. Now all these girls need to do are a few open water dives to officially become Open Water Divers!

“I think it was a great opportunity for the girls in our school, and a unique activity to take up,” says Alex Kimmons, one of the Yr 10 girls who enrolled in this course. “It was fun, and although it required a certain amount of commitment, worthwhile. I would recommend it to anyone wishing to do something out of the ordinary!”
