18 Old North Londoners revisited the school for a forty year reunion. They had been at Canons from 1960-7 under the headmistress Dame Kitty Anderson and many ONLs had travelled far to see their old friends, some from Glasgow, Devon, Hampshire and Surrey.

Felicity McLelland explained that it was still clear today that North London has kept up its ethos of offering choice. When she was at school, she was taught that women should have a choice equal to men and realised that women can aspire to great things. She was pleased that the school still portrayed a strong message like it did when she was at school.

They were impressed by the Performing Arts Centre, the expansion of the school and the indoor swimming pool especially, as when they were at school; they were forced to swim outside in the freezing cold! Margaret Hall said that one of the biggest changes was the relaxation of uniform. When she was young, hats had to be worn at all times, and skirts were knee length with inspections everyday. She found the skirts much shorter and the uniform very casual!
The ONLs enjoyed their time at Canons and encouraged that everyone makes use of the great education and opportunities as they did.
