This year, both the Oxford and Cambridge universities’ Women’s Lacrosse clubs have Presidents who are Old North Londoners. They will be rivals in this year’s Varsity match on February 28th.

Georgina Rose (2005), an Exhibitioner at Emmanuel College, Cambridge and Claire Strauss (2005) who is at Trinity College, Oxford, are the rival Presidents of their respective lacrosse teams. Both contributed greatly to sport at North London and were captain and vice captain of the school’s 1st Lacrosse team.

The Varsity match will be held on Parker’s Pieces in Cambridge on 28th February 2009. This year there will be around five Old North Londoners taking part in the match, including Sam Mandel-Dallal (2005) who is the Cambridge Varsity secretary and the social secretary of the Ospreys.

Light Blue v Dark Blue...

This year’s match promises to be an extremely close affair. The standard of play is very high and several of the team members play at international level for England, Wales and Scotland.
