Laksha Bala (Yr 13) was awarded the runner-up prize for her Gold CREST project at the UK Young Scientists and Engineers Fair, held in central London last week.

Laksha’s project entitled “A mouse model of Hischsprung’s Disease”, was one of almost 200 projects displayed at the fair. Last summer at the National Institute of Medical Research, she was able to explore in depth the role played by certain genes in the development of this congenital disease of the nervous system and so based her project on this topic.
We are extremely proud of Laksha’s achievement and of the hard work and dedication she has put into her investigation.
