The main Hall has recently been decorated with two magnificent panels reflecting the history of the school and of Canons. The Parents’ Guild donated prize money for a competition to design the panels to brighten up the Hall. The winner of the commission was Robina Barson, the previous Head of Art who left North London 10 years ago.

The paintings reflect the school as it is today including the Performing Arts Centre and the library, alongside images of Frances Mary Buss and the Buss ship on the gateposts.

Robina has brought her love of the school and her specialisation of trompe l’oeil effects together in these panels. She hopes that ‘as people sit in the hall they will see a strong overall design and then enjoy unpicking it anecdotally’. The decorative panels can be enjoyed by the whole school community.
