The Senior Lacrosse Team spent this weekend in Edinburgh, competing against schools from England and Scotland in the Scottish Open Tournament. All 28 girls fought extremely hard in the cold conditions.
A special congratulations for the 1st team (captain Francesca Wade), who won all of their matches in their group, scoring 27 goals and conceding only one throughout the whole day.
Following this success, the team played Queen Margaret’s School in the semi-final with a convincing 3-0 victory. Despite having played lacrosse for many hours the girls would not tire and battled hard in an intense and challenging final against St. Albans’ High School, which they won 1-0, emerging as champions of the Tournament champions!
Many thanks go to Miss Newsome, Mrs Tune and Mrs Taylor of the P.E. department for supporting the teams and organising the tour.
The winning 1st XII Lacrosse team:
Francesca Wade (captain), Sarah Brown, Charlie Kerrison, Eleanor Ruben, Rosie Neilson, Leah Schabas, Priyanka Mehta, Laura Leung – How, Amy Needleman, Lottie Wakeling, Beth Denham, Anna Pugh, Georgina Prichard and Selina Parmar
