The First School girls enjoyed two wonderful days of activities recently.
On ‘Grounds Day’ they were ably led by a team from the ‘Three Valleys Environmental Centre’. Girls were pond dipping, looking at habitats and creating some “Hot Art” of the herbaceous border. The girls can now recognise ladybird larvae, pond snails and dragon flies. Our Three Valleys friends issued the girls with a ‘lunch challenge’ – we all had to bring our lunch in recyclable containers and all waste was weighed. We won a silver award for our efforts!
On ‘Home Day’ staff and parents helped girls to make their own lunch, pack it in a hand decorated bag, and eat it! In the afternoon they used natural materials, lap tops and digital cameras and a variety of other resources to record their day.
