Britain's Kindest Kid nominee with Zac Efron
This afternoon at 5:15pm on BBC1, Dani Jacobsen, Yr 8, will feature on the Blue Peter show. Dani has been awarded with a Gold Blue Peter Badge for her remarkable achievements over the past year.
Dani, together with her sister Talya, who suffers from cerebal palsy, swam the equivalant length of the English Channel. They raised over £25,000 for various charities including Norwood and Mencap.
In August, Dani was nominated for the "Britain's Kindest Kid" Award run by Channel 5 Television. She therefore had the opportunity to go to Downing Street to meet the Prime Minister, Gordon Brown.
Yesterday, Dani enjoyed the ultimate accolade of meeting Her Majesty The Queen at Buckingham Palace. This was part of the 50th anniversary celebrations for the Blue Peter show and Dani was selected as England's representative alongside children from Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
As part of Dani's experience over the last year, she was recently able to meet Zac Efron, the star of High School Musical.
Dani is delighted with her achievement and commented that it is 'so nice to think that you have made a difference to other people's lives'.
