The Performing Arts Opening Festival concluded this week with the Senior Concert. The girls performed to a full auditorium, and enjoyed the intimate yet grand setting.

The Senior Chamber Choir began the concert with performances of ‘Shenandoah’ and ‘Tears idle Tears’ followed by the Senior Orchestra playing Tchaikovsky and Brahms. The Jazz Band then played ‘Rock around the Clock’ (Freedman) and ‘In the Mood’ (Miller) followed by Holst’s ‘St Paul’s Suite’ performed by the String Orchestra.

The concert ended with the Senior Choir singing Pergolesi’s ‘Magnificat’ and Haydn’s ‘Te Deum’ which were received with fervent applause from the audience.

Old North Londoners and former teachers were welcomed back to enjoy the concert, and guests enjoyed a champagne reception. The audience was hugely impressed with the confidence and enthusiasm of the performers.

The concert was a perfect way to demonstrate the new Centre’s magnificent sound and staging facilities and we look forward to more music-making in the future!
