Girls from Yrs 9-13 attended the North London Collegiate School Careers Convention recently. The Convention is a wonderful opportunity to network and mingle with over 100 professionals from a huge range of professions. People from many occupations, from journalists to engineers, are invited to attend.
It was great to gain an insight into what exactly each job entails, and girls can gain a sense of what degree at university might suit their chosen career, what to expect financially, and so on.
There were also speeches by leading individuals within their fields, such as Mr. David Aaronovitch, regular columnist at The Times, and Ms Irene Kahn, Secretary General of Amnesty International.
