The Senior School Production has been hailed a triumph by audience members who attended this innovative and contemporary performance of Shakespeare's great tragedy Macbeth. Using the context of the media-driven world of the 21st century as the backdrop, technology led to ill-gotten gains and acted as a catalyst to a different sort of brutality and ambition. Here the witches were the paparazzi and the soldiers became the bankers. This was a beautifully staged production where ambitious set and lighting designed by the Technical Manager, Steve Gregson fused with atmospheric music, projection, movement and the text. The performances were highly professional and demonstrated the sophistication and quality of the actors at NLCS. Director, Deborah Gibbs commented on how proud she is of this outstanding cast and crew who have created something really special and as Shakespeare would have wanted, so frighteningly wonderful.
