Open Garden success

On June 12th, once again North London Collegiate School opened its doors as part of the London-wide Open Garden Squares Weekend.  The weather was kind, the gardens stunning, and the activities were bigger and better than ever before.  Approximately 300 visitors enjoyed a fantastic afternoon.

Highlights included pot planting and decorating, in which 80 children took part.  There was also an extremely popular hands-on cookery activity, a colouring competition, maypole dancing and plants for sale.  All complemented by talks and exhibitions on the history of Canons, and details of life here in the 18th century. Even the Duke and Duchess of Chandos managed to attend!

Thanks to the hard work of all volunteers, the event was a resounding success, which was greatly appreciated by everyone.
