'80, '90, '00 Reunion...

Old North Londoners caught up with each other and with current and former staff at the annual reunion organised by the ONLA.

Article: Gina Sternberg (Yr 10)

It was a wonderful occasion for the ONLs; reliving memories of their time at Canons and reuniting them with classmates and former staff. Among ONLS present were Lesley Hill (ONL 1980), a present Governor and Zoe Wang (ONL 2000), a former member of the Big Six.

Anna Chapple (ONL 1980) enjoyed seeing her year group commenting that ‘the jobs and haircuts of people change but their character doesn't change at all'. She, like many of the ONLs, is in regular contact with a few friends from school but this was the first time that she had seen some for over ten years. For one particular ONL, Beb Rooke (ONL 1980), it was her first time back in over 30 years.

Old North Londoners were reminiscing about their time at school with stories of swimming in the freezing cold outdoor swimming pool, Founder's Day ceremonies and Sixth Form lessons. They spoke of the school ethos and the value of women's education that has had a profound effect on them since leaving NLCS.

After a welcome from the Headmistress, there was time to explore the grounds at Canons. One ONL commented that it was only when she left that she realised how lucky she was to have these grounds at her disposal while she attended the school on the site of Canons. After tea, ONLs bade farewell to old friends with friendships being renewed from this reunion.
