Cicero Competition 2011

Josephine, a student in Year 13, has been placed second overall in the UK category of the 2011 International CICERO Latin translation competition for her year group. A group of eight students travelled to James Allen's Girls' School on Saturday 26th March with Mrs Elliot to represent NLCS at the competition, run at numerous venues around the UK and across the world. Students could choose to enter papers in Latin translation and/or Greek mythology. Josephine wins £100, having conquered stiff competition from many talented Latinists across the country, producing a highly accurate translation.

NLCS enjoyed further success in the competition, with Gabrielle Pereira (Yr 13) Highly Commended in the same category, and Delia Lockey (Yr 12) Commended for her translation of the passage set for her year group. Both Gabrielle and Delia are awarded books on the Classical world for their efforts.

Mrs O'Sullivan would like to congratulate all the NLCS Latinists who entered for their hard work and enthusiasm. Further details of the competition can be found at http://www.ciceroconcordia.com/.
