The annual Mencap Funday took place recently and was once again a great success. Over 15 children with special needs attended this fun filled event, each of which was looked after and entertained by the forty enthusiastic NLCS girls from Yrs 7 - 13. Activities included: biscuit decorating, arts and crafts, swimming, football, rounders, musical statues, pass the parcel and there was even a bouncy castle!
The children thoroughly enjoyed the activities and left smiling with small gifts from pass the parcel, their biscuits and their paintings. Imogen Walker, co-chair of Canonaid, said that ‘the highlight of the event was definitely meeting new people and making new friends'
Thanks to all the teachers, members of Canonaid, members of Time Out and other volunteers for making the day possible. Special thanks to Mr Hitchcock (Classics Dept) for organising the event.
