Lucy Jago visits NLCS
On 10thMay the Performing Arts Centre was full of excited students waiting to hear Lucy Jago talk about her new book Montacute House. NLCS girls were joined by pupils from a number of local schools for this exciting event.

Lucy Jago has published two non-fiction books, one of which won the National Biographer's Award, however, Montacute House was her first piece of historical fiction. Ms Jago read extracts from the novel and then went on to talk about the research she had carried out for the book. Set in the 1590s, in a world of plots, magic and intrigue, she spoke about the trials and thrills of writing historical fiction.

It was an interesting and inspiring talk that took us beyond the uncertainties involved in creating a story into the practicalities of writing authentic historical fiction. It was certainly an enjoyable lunchtime and prompted all of us to want to read her new book!
