On Tuesday 6th December, the Senior football team consisting of Serena Shah, Jen Palmer, Laura Guariglia, Yee Yewt Smart, Karishma Patel and Maria-Clara Martins played in a 5-a-side tournament held at St Paul's.
The team opened extremely well with a 3-0 win against Putney which proved to be the highest scoreline of the entire tournament. A tough match against Godolphin and Latymer saw either team unable to break the deadlock, but the next game against Lady Margaret School saw North London back to their goal-scoring form after winning 2-1.
Another tense match followed against Latymer Upper School, with their goalkeeper making some fantastic saves to block the shots of Laura Guariglia and Jen Palmer resulting in another 0-0 draw. This gave the final match against St Paul's huge significance when determining NLCS's position at the end of the tournament. The host team managed to score first, putting real pressure on the North London team. However, the equaliser came with the last kick of the match, making NLCS the tournament champions. It was the first time that North London had competed in this tournament, and was a fantastic result for all involved.
