On Sunday 16th September, 22 girls in Year 12 and 13, all taking the International Baccalaureate, took part in a walk around North London as part of the CAS (Creativity-Action-Service) element of the IB.
As part of CAS, girls studying the IB are also required to complete, alongside their academic studies, 50 compulsory hours of activities each in the three categories of ‘Creativity', ‘Action' and ‘Service'. For girls in Year 13, the walk was a good training exercise ahead of their participation in the Shine night-time half-marathon on Saturday the 29th of September for Cancer Research. For girls in Year 12, the walk was a chance to obtain their first hours towards CAS.
The girls took a 9 mile circular route through the various parks of North London, beginning at West Hampstead and walking all the way to Regents Park, with a picnic stop at Kenwood. The weather was pleasant, allowing girls to enjoy the scenic route and each other's company.
It was a lovely day and thank you to all the teachers who accompanied the students.
