Berkhamsted 8-aside Tournament

On Sunday 2nd October 2011 the U13 and U14 lacrosse teams played in the Berkhamsted 8 a side tournament.

Despite the unusually hot weather the girl's energy and determination received admiral comments throughout the day. In the morning section, with an impressive level of quick passing, the U13 team won against St. Georges 2, LEH, Abbot's Hill, Berkhamsted Blue and drew with Godstowe 1 - 1. These results gained them 1st place in the section. Both Godstowe and  NLCS where then put through to the top section for the afternoon. The girl's beat Queen Annes and Bedford,  drew against Guilford and Godstowe and lost in a closely fought game to Packwood Hall 2 - 1. Many congratulations go to the girls for gaining a very well deserved third place out of sixteen schools and only conceding one match throughout the day.

The U14 mood was high and excitement seemed to fill the air.  In the morning, the girls quickly learned the best tactics for an 8-a-side game and played extremely well beating St George's 2, LEH 2, and Putney who were undefeated at that point.  Unfortunately the girls narrowly missed out on being placed in the top division but didn't let that stop their momentum.  In the 2nd division, they beat Queen Annes (2-0), LEH 2 (2-0), and Kings (3-0). They also drew one and lost one game finishing 2nd in their division.  The girls came together as a team and made us very proud with their play.

Well done to all who played.
