42nd Street '11

On 9th, 10th & 12th March, 42nd Street played to packed audiences in the PAC. This hugely anticipated production delighted and thrilled audiences throughout the run.

The acclaimed musical, performed by 70 girls from Yrs 10-13 in the different production areas and 4 boys from The John Lyon School, tells the story of a young actor's rise to fame in the frantic and exhilarating world of Broadway.

After months of hard work, the performers created 2 hours of theatre magic before a full house. The musical featured brilliant acting performances, lively songs such as ‘Go into Your Dance', 'Lullaby of Broadway' and ‘Forty-Second Street' as well as precisely choreographed dance sequences.

The show was directed and choreographed by Miss Deborah Gibbs, Director of Drama with Musical Direction by Mr Steven Berryman, Assistant Director of Music. Miss Gibbs said of the show on its final night "The acting, singing, dancing and technical elements were of the highest professional standards, I am so proud of the joy and pleasure the cast had brought to the audiences throughout the week"

Much deserved congratulations go to all the actors, dancers and singers as well the production team and the 42nd Street Band.
