On Thursday 26th January the Junior school had a visit from Titanium Tom. He wowed the girls with amazing science facts and experiments. He started his assembly by explaining a magic trick of turning water to a solid by using Sodium Polyacrylate. He then had the girls captivated by explaining physical and chemical reactions and how these can be sped up by using a catalyst. He covered paper with a chemical which made it react with fire very quickly and disappear. He ended his show by setting fire to icing sugar whilst blowing air over it creating a dramatic chemical reaction.
All the Lower School girls had a fantastic time and leant something new about science. Titanium Tom certainly proved that science is great fun!
