Lower School Christmas Concert

The bells of peace rang out during the Lower School Christmas concert on Thursday afternoon and evening. The girls sang beautifully, their voices soaring through the PAC in familiar and less familiar Christmas music.

The standard of music was extremely high and the girls charmed and delighted their audiences with music ranging from Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah to a medley of seasonal jingles. The ensembles of cellists, flautists, clarinettists and strings produced wonderful music, making their families and their teachers very proud.  We all enjoyed the traditional carols and were happy that Frosty the Snowman made his annual appearance.

The entire PAC was silent when the girls, speaking so clearly and confidently, re-enacted the 1914 Christmas Truce, followed by a very moving rendition of Silent Night in both English and German. I am sure we all felt a lump in our throats at that moment.

Huge thanks goes to Miss White and all the music staff for providing such stimulating and heart-warming entertainment.
