Channel 4's Alternative Election Night
On 19th April, a group of politically minded 10 and 11 year olds from the Lower School impressed a panel of Channel 4 judges from Zeppotron, (part of Endemol UK Plc). The company has been commissioned by Channel 4 to produce some ground-breaking television on Election Night.
The Alternative Election Night will be a four hour live special presented by and featuring much of Channel 4's key talent. The aim of the show is to be funny, revealing and intelligent with the viewer taking away real insight and analysis as well as being thoroughly entertained.
Sixteen girls entered the competition and Anoushka Sharp (5W) was selected to appear in the programme, which is being filmed on Sunday 25th April. Lauren Botje (5W) and Emily Otvos (6R) were chosen as reserves, in the event that the other ‘candidates' are unavailable. The programme will be broadcast on May 6th and will be called The Primaries.
