A Night at the Oscars

The Lower School concert was truly a night to remember. Mr Haythornthwaite created an exciting programme of music, all of which had been associated with Oscar winning performances in one sphere or another. Highlights included the ever growing Junior Orchestra playing John William's music from E.T. and Starwars, the Gym Squad performing to Hans Zimmer's Discombobulate from Sherlock Holmes, Rania Kim's moving solo violin performance of Schindler's List, the Year 5 & 6 Choir singing Beauty and the Beast, the Year 3 & 4 Choir singing their Disney Dazzle Medley and other outstanding performances from the String Training Orchestra, the Flute and Clarinet Groups, the Recorder Ensemble, the Cello Quartet and the Chamber Choir.  The girls thoroughly enjoyed performing and really gave their all.  We even think the two giant Oscar statues started to smile at one point!
