During the Easter holidays, twenty Yr 7 students went on a trip to Picardie for five days to experience French life. Although the weather was not always on the bright side, they enjoyed a thoroughly delightful week full of exciting visits.
It began with a quick walk in the streets of Calais on the way to Picardie, followed by visits to a traditional bakery and a chocolate factory as well as a visit to Boulogne.
The students were able to experience shopping in a traditional market in Abbeville and enjoyed a quiet walk in the picturesque streets of Amiens, including a visit to its outstanding cathedral, one of the most beautiful in the world.
After a day spent at Disneyland Paris, the trip ended with a steam train ride along the preserved Baie de Somme. Everyone had a fantastic time in what was a very positive experience of French culture and joie de vivre!
