Peter Pan Flies In

This year's First School winter production of Peter Pan did everything except fly! The Year 2 girls took to the stage like old hands, taking all the major parts and making us believe in everything, including - or maybe especially -  fairies.

The Darling family and their nanny-dog, Nana, were brought bang into the 21st century, as Mr Darling consulted his iPad and asked one of the children for help in using it. He had appointments with Mrs McCabe and spent as much time flying back and forth to South Korea as the rest of his family did to Never Land.

The Reception girls, who seemed so much more grown up than they did just a few weeks ago when they arrived in school, enchanted us with their impressions of shimmering mermaids and twinkling stars. They spoke and danced beautifully.

Year One, true to tradition, brought smiles to our faces. We clapped along to their hip-hop dance tunes and watched them throw themselves into their parts as Indian Squaws and Lost Boys.

Peter Pan and Tinkerbell were as enchanting as ever and Big Chief Newman, Second-in-Command Gerstein and all the other chiefs in the First School had every reason to be proud of this wonderfully entertaining production.
