Sixth Form Admissions 16+ entry

Admission to the Sixth-Form (approximately 20 places)

We usually admit approximately 20 girls into our Sixth Form to join girls coming up from our own Yr 11. They are very welcome as they bring a new approach and fresh ideas. Our entrance test and interviews ensure that the candidates are embarking on the right Sixth Form courses and are secure in their background work.

All details of the International Baccalaureate and AS / A2 courses are to be found in the Sixth Form Course Guide. Candidates should study this closely before making application.

Applications are accepted between July and October of the year preceding admission.

Registration for September 2010 Entry is now CLOSED.

Entrance Procedure

Candidates are invited for one day of entrance tests in mid-November. These tests are in subjects they are planning to study in the Sixth Form, and are based on the common core of the GCSE syllabuses. Short-listed candidates are subsequently called for interviews with the appropriate Heads of Department in late November.

The candidate's present school is asked for a reference and for predictions for GCSE. When a candidate is accepted, it is usually unconditionally, on the basis of our tests.

For entry in September 2010 the entrance tests will be held on 11th November 2009, and the interviews on 23rd and 24th November 2009.
