North London Collegiate School

Girls in the Lower School enjoyed another excellent evening of chess last Tuesday. We won the first match against Monken Hadley 6 - 2, but lost the second match 2 - 6 to Garden Suburb (last year’s national champions).

All the players, including the reserves, impressed the other competitors and organisers with their slow, methodical approach. Four of the games against Garden Suburb had to be adjudicated as we ran out of time. Most of the team were in Yr 4 or below, so we have the basis of a strong squad for future years.
