Recent Sixth Formers' perspectives...

Lauren Davidson studied English Literature, Philosophy of Religion and Classical Civilisation (and Maths AS Level) in the Sixth Form at NLCS; she was also managing director of a Young Enterprise company and was Head of Philosophy Society.

Lauren is now reading Theology at Christ's College, Cambridge, where she became the first Old North Londoner to become President of the Cambridge Union (debating society), the largest society in the University.

Lauren in the President's Chair at the Cambridge Union...

"I benefited from the keen sense of self-driven competition that is part of the NLCS experience; I was always given lots of positive feedback. Girls are taught that they can do anything they want to do if they work hard and pursue their dreams. A North London education gives you the confidence to be yourself and not rely on other people."

As Union President Lauren organised and chaired debates and talks by Nigel Farage (UKIP), David Blunkett (former Home Secretary), Julian Assange (Wikileaks) and the actor Omid Djalili.

Susannah Prichard studied Politics, Double Maths, Economics and English at A Level and was a scholar of Pembroke College, Cambridge, where she read Social & Political Sciences. She is now teaching with the Teach First scheme, and plans to do a Law conversion course.

"My sixth form experience at North London Collegiate gave me my favourite two years at the school. The smaller classes and closer relationship with teachers meant that lessons became more interesting and interactive. Furthermore, the benefits you acquire as a Sixth Former, such as using the common room and heading up societies, really made school an enjoyable experience.

Ending my time at North London with Canons Follies and the Valedictory Assembly provided the perfect finale for all of us leavers. I am still in touch with the friends I made, both old and new sixth form girls, and hope to be for a long time to come."
