A Levels

Girls taking A levels choose from 23 subjects, taking 4 or 5 subjects in the first year of the Sixth Form, and continuing with between 3 and 5 into the second year. A number of subjects (English, Modern Languages, Philosophy and Theology) are taught and examined through the Cambridge University designed Pre-U qualification, where subject departments consider it to provide a more intellectually stimulating experience.

All students, including those taking the International Baccalaureate, attend (and take turns to organise) a choice of weekly lectures on Thursday mornings in subject areas, usually given by university academics; in addition, students attend non-academic activities on Wednesday afternoons in the autumn of their first year, and academic enrichment classes (in their chosen field of university study) from the second term.
