After School Clubs are held each weekday from 3.25 to 4.00pm for girls in Years 3 to 6. There are some extented clubs from 4.15 to 5.15pm, usually involving a payment, such as fencing and golf for the older girls. Pupils choose their clubs for the Autumn and Spring term and again for the Summer term when a different selection of clubs are on offer.
The after- school clubs are very popular and we try to ensure that every girl is offered a good range of her choices during the week. Girls in Year 3 are usually allocated two clubs a week, with the number of clubs they are allowed to do rising as they get older. A large number of Year 6 girls do clubs each night of the week! There is a huge variety of opportunities on offer.
Currently the Lower School is offering 40 different clubs to the pupils which include a healthy mixture of sports such as netball, lacrosse, fencing, gymnastics, dance and swimming. In addition there are clubs with a Drama focus, Theatre Design and Music Technology. Some girls choose Story Weavers, Brilliant Books, Debating, Let’s Sing, Craft, a Conservation Rainforest and Nature Club are just a few other examples.
Girls may wait in a Late Room until 4.00pm if they are catching a coach home and are not in a Club.
